I’m Kalpesh, Principal Field Engineer at Adobe, in New York, on the Ultimate Success team.
The job is the part of enterprise software nobody puts in a sales deck. Architecture reviews that catch a scaling problem two quarters before it becomes an outage. Upgrade paths that don’t strand three years of customization. Health checks on the system everyone quietly stopped looking at. I do this for some of the largest enterprises on Adobe’s Digital Experience stack, across retail, telecom, automotive, and consumer goods.
I started building on Magento in 2011 and never really left. Magento Master in 2020, Adobe’s highest recognition for developers, selected from 6,500+. A seat on the Magento Certification Advisory Board. Three rounds as an Adobe Subject Matter Expert for the Commerce Architect certification, so if you sat that exam and got stuck on a question about EAV, there’s a fair chance it was mine.
I’ve spent a lot of time on the other side of the platform too. I’m ranked #2 globally among security researchers for Adobe Commerce, with more than 35 critical vulnerabilities reported and fixed before anyone found them the hard way. Most turned up during ordinary customer work, which tells you something about how much of security is just paying attention while you’re already in there.
The “build with AI” part isn’t aspirational either. I recently architected an LLM workflow that took an expert environment review from 25 hours of engineering time down to 2, the kind of automation that only works when you already know what the expert is looking for.
Before Adobe I ran engineering at Corra (since acquired by Publicis Sapient) while it became the #1 global Adobe Commerce partner, and before that spent years as the in-house architect brought in to stabilize a platform that was falling over in production. On the community side: Magento Community Maintainer reviewing contributor pull requests, Top 50 Magento Contributor in 2018 and 2019, speaker at Adobe Summit 2023, host of Commerce Office Hours, and organizer of meetups in Mumbai, Los Angeles, and Boston.
